The Executive Board of the Hanover region of the BME (Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik e.V.) has unanimously elected the Managing Director of SCHREIBER + WEINERT GmbH, Ingo F. Schreiber, as Chairman.
Founded in 1954, the leading open-industry trade association and network partner for purchasing, supply chain and logistics managers has almost 9,750 members and represents around 100,000 purchasers.
The objectives of the BME are the transfer of expertise through the exchange of experience, the training and further education of qualified specialists and managers and the promotion of new findings, processes and techniques at the interface between science and practice.
As a driving force and agenda-setter, the BME helps its member companies to open up new procurement markets and actively shapes economic processes and political developments at national and European level. More than 20 specialist groups and expert groups develop future-orientated and tried-and-tested concepts, which the BME makes available to its members and the specialist public in order to advance the profession of purchasing, logistics and supply chain management in the public arena.
The 38 BME regions with their approximately 300 volunteer colleagues create a close-knit network throughout Germany and organise around 400 face-to-face and online events in the form of lectures, discussion rounds and company visits every year.
Together with the events organised by BME e.V. and its subsidiaries, this results in 1,200 specialist events of various orientations and sizes that take place annually under the umbrella of BME in Germany and abroad. These events range from certified training courses, seminars and management forums to large congresses.
Since its foundation, the BME has welcomed more than 500,000 participants to its training and further education programmes.
